Information for visitors

WHERE IS THE VENUE ?

Our Fair is held at The Nutshell on Saturday 19th October. The Nutshell is in the centre of Winchester and can be found within the Kings Walk Shopping Arcade. Look out for the Southdowns Social coffee shop at the entrance to Kings Walk. The address is: The Nutshell, Kings Walk, Winchester, SO23 8AF

HOW DO I GET THERE?

ON FOOT Whether you are coming by car or train the final (short) part of your journey to the Nutshell will be on foot. Here’s a helpful film to show you how to find the Nutshell from the Buttercross in the High Street.

BY CAR Leave the M3 at Junction 9 or Junction 10 of the M3 and follow signs to the City Centre. The Nutshell does not have a car park but you have the choice of Middle Brook Street Car Park (SO23 8DQ), the Brooks Shopping Centre Car Park (SO23 8QY), Friarsgate Car Park (SO23 8AQ) or Upper Brook Street Car Park (SO23 8DG) which are all just a short walk away.

BY TRAIN Regular services connect Winchester with London and Southampton (4+ trains per hour) as well as direct services to/from Portsmouth, Brighton, Reading, Birmingham and Manchester. From the train station, the Nutshell is around a 15 minute walk. You will need to walk down City Road and at the lights turn right into Jewry Street. You will come to another set of traffic lights with Turtle Bay restaurant on your left. Cross at the pedestrian crossing heading toward the HSBC ahead of you. A Barclays bank will be on your left. Turn left into the High Street. Follow the street down past the Buttercross and straight on until Marks and Spencer is on your left. Turn left into Middle Brook Street and walk past Sainsburys. Kings Walk will be just ahead on your right.

BY BUS Bluestar 1 from Southampton stops just outside Marks and Spencer which is diagonally opposite Kings Walk shopping arcade.

PUBLIC OPENING TIMES: 10:30 - 16:00

COVID-19 There still seems to be plenty of COVID-19 about, and we will continue to monitor Government advice leading up to the Fair. We will let you know of any change that may affect the way we run the event. A comics fair is always a busy event and we want everyone to feel comfortable and safe. We would recommend exhibitors ensure they have hand sanitiser readily available and, (it should not need saying) we welcome anyone who wants to wear a mask.
